Mammy Croton

Yellow Iceton Croton plant features mid-green foliage in lush yellow colour.

Zanzibar Croton

This Croton variety is unique from its pack. It looks like duplicate grass with narrow arch like leaves in purple, orange, gold and red.

Asparagus Sprengeri

Asparagus Sprengeri has long stems covered with small, needle like leafs because of which the plant gets its delicate appearance. It looks like a hanging basket. When you set this plant on a multi level stand, its feathery foliage looks beautiful amongst other indoor plants.

Mature plants will bloom with flowers in summer. It also has berries in winters. It grows best in well-drained, fertile soil. Monthly fertilisers are needed and water should be given to keep soil moist.

Money Plant

This plant’s flourishing leaves and trunks are believed to bring good luck and money. Money tree prefer indirect and bright light, humidity. Direct sunlight results in scorching of leaves and the plants do well in dim light. Hot, dry air should be avoided. To avoid rotting of roots, sandy, well-drained soil is needed. During growing season, it needs too be fertilised once a month.

Kangi Palm (Cycas Revoluta)

Plant has cones and has attractive palm-like feathery foliage making it appear like palms and tree ferns. It’s known as a prehistoric plant. Sago palms adapts to a large variety of conditions due to its strong natural defences against predators.

This plant prefers dryness as excess water result in rotting of its roots. It needs ample sunlight and light, well drained soil.

Fern

Ferns are comparatively easy to grow, dry air and extreme temperatures doesn’t help. Ferns which are taken care of and protected from dry air and temperature extremes have lush green leaves throughout the year making your garden beautiful as ever.

There are two types of bulbs for indoor plants, one which needs to be chilled and the other ones which don’t need to be chilled.

Alocasia Spp

Alocasia is commonly known as Elephant Ear or Kris Plant. This strange looking houseplant produce flowers on occasion, but it’s not because of this reason that we buy it. When it comes to purchasing Alocasia, it’s due to its unique looking shield shaped or arrowhead leaves with protruding white veins contrasting with the dark green leaf.

Begonia Rex

Beautiful foliage of Rex Begonias is available in variety of shape, textures and colours. Flowers are insignificant but all the attention is focused on leaves. These plants can be grown in a shade garden in preferably humid weather in aerated, rich soil of forests. Too much water and fertiliser needs too be avoided at all costs.

Aphelandra Auriantiaca

Also known as Zebra plant, its large pointed leaves are glossy green and deep with shiny silver veins that looks like it’s striped. These plants usually have flowers in late autumn or summer. Similar to jungle plants, zebra plant is difficult to grow indoors in temperate areas. It needs lots of warmth, moisture and food to thrive especially in winters. Even a short lived specimen of this plant will last up to several months.

Aspidistra Elatior

Aspidistra is an attractive plant due to its opulent leaves. It’s the only species which is used as an indoor plant. There is no connection to actual palms; however its real beauty lies in its dark green shiny leaves. This ornamental plant is known for its low maintenance requirements and forgiveness for mistakes while tending.

Beloperone Guttata

It is known as shrimp plant due to its dull pink bracts shaped like shrimp’s body shielding the white flowers. It’s an ornamental and amenable house plant which loves light and enjoys other plant’s company. Flowers are produced continuously during growing season and lasts for up to 10 months every year. During winters, it should be kept in a cool room for few weeks.

Song of India

Song of India plant or the retired Pleomele reflexa plant is an evergreen shrub or upright tree which has yellow stripes on its small narrow leaves. It grows slowly and is used as a decoration piece in homes and provides shade to smaller plants. It needs very less water and sunlight for survival which is the reason why it’s found in offices commonly.

Laila Majanu

Also known as Chinese evergreen is a plant which will grow in any location where full sun is not there. Full sun may lead to scorched leaves which are exposed. Chinese evergreen plants become leggy and thin in low light. If you want a nice, healthy plant then diffused natural light or artificial light is needed.

Fittonia

If you go for a walk and you see green house in your neighbourhood or house plant retailer with Fittonia plant in it, you will certainly feel like getting one for you too. It is a beautiful creeping plant with pink, red or white veins throughout the stems and leaf.

Other common names are Nerve Plant or Mosaic plant.  It needs warm, humid conditions to grow.

Kalanchoe Spp.

It is a low-maintenance plant which looks beautiful when it has flowers blooming in winters. They need low humidity and occasional watering to grow. They grow up to 12 inches.

Maranta Spp.

Maranta are low growing plants with maximum height of about 8 inches thus making them appear like beautiful displays of small plants on windowsills. They grow best when providing conditions similar to greenhouse with lost of fertiliser, warmth and moisture.

Philodendon Spp.

Philodendron houseplants thrive indoors year round without complaint, but they enjoy an occasional stay outdoors in a shady spot when the weather permits. Taking the plant outdoors also gives you a chance to flush the soil with plenty of fresh water and clean the leaves.

Tradescantia Spp.

This plant has flowers with three petals that are usually purple or blue but also pink, white or red at times. These flowers are open only in day and closed at night. Flowers bloom for 4-6 weeks in summer. Growing these plants is easy and you will find them quite resilient.

Zebrina Pendula

Zebrina plants also called wandering Jew produce stems covered in large leaves. Plant also produces attractive flowers throughout the year. It grows best in sites which are shaded partially or full all day light. Soil needs to be drained well as standing water will lead to rotten roots.

Nolina

Also known as Ponytail palms, they are unique and durable indoor plants that thrive more on being neglected. They are easy to grow but the only thing you need to remember is not to water them in excess.

Dieffenbachia Amoena

This large and showy plant will prove to be the perfect décor piece for your office or home. As you learn how to care for this plant, you will know that they can easily adapt to different lighting and conditions in which you may expect it to die.

Scheflera Arboricla

Combination of detoxifying powers and attractive leaves, the Scheflera plant is a very popular indoor plant. To grow this plant healthily, you just need to learn how to water it correctly. The correct way to water it is, wait till the soil completely dries out and then thoroughly soak the soil with water. Overwatering eventually kills the plant.

Scheflera Arboricla Vaiegatta

Rubber Plant

Polka Dot

Asparagus Pyramidalis
